01 Who is Zelda Cavanaugh?
Zelda Cavanaugh is the studio name of Michelle Cavanaugh, an artist working with DSM-5 diagnostic language, generative systems, gold leaf, and embroidery. Original canvases are listed under Work and sold on this site. Education at the University of Central Florida, Northwestern University, and Cornell University.
02 How long does it take to create a piece?
There is no fixed timeline. Some pieces have taken up to three months, off and on. Others have been completed in less than a day. Each work is unique in its making.
03 Do you take commissions?
Yes, though I am selective. I keep commissions consistent with the body of work so the narrative stays fluent. Most of my time is spent growing the work for exhibition.
04 Can I purchase original artwork?
Yes. Available originals are listed under Work. Add a canvas to the cart and pay on this site. Shipping address is collected at checkout. If you are interested in a piece that is not listed, write through the contact form. Giclée prints of sold originals are on the prints list on Work and can be added to the cart. Paying for a print does not sell the original, and prints stay available.
05 What are your payment terms?
All work is sold at full price, paid in full on this site before shipping. Installment plans are not offered.
06 What shipping options do you offer?
Originals ship via UPS Ground. United States from $22. Canada from $38. Britain and Ireland from $48. The rest of Europe from $55. Australia and New Zealand from $72. A second work in the same box is less than the first. Works 24 inches or larger on a side add $12. Prints ship in a rigid mailer. United States from $9. Canada from $16. Britain and Ireland from $20. The rest of Europe from $22. Australia and New Zealand from $28. A phone number is required for the carrier. I do not ship outside those countries.
07 What is your return policy?
Returns within 30 days, original condition and packaging. Custom orders cannot be returned. Damaged or incorrect items: write immediately so I can make it right.
08 Do you accept wholesale from consultants and interior designers?

10 What is a Giclée print?
A Giclée print (pronounced “zhee-clay”) is a high-quality reproduction created with pigment-based inks on archival paper. Colors remain stable for over a hundred years. Prints match the dimensions of the originals; the original canvases remain unique, with hand-applied gold gilding and embroidery that is never reproduced on canvas. 11 Do you provide consulting?
I consult on AI innovation, AI design, storytelling, product development, and product management at $175 per hour. Write through the contact form with a clear outline of objectives, challenges, and relevant background.
